Files and folders in SharePoint and OneDrive can be manipulated in much the same way as you would on your computer. The following steps detail how to work with files and folders in OneDrive and SharePoint and can be used on any device and platform.

Create a New File or Folder
Via a Web Browser
1. Navigate to the OneDrive for Business website (https://growthforce-my.sharepoint.com/) or the SharePoint website (https://growthforce.sharepoint.com)
2. Click New on the library toolbar
3. Select the desired file type or Folder to create

On your Computer
1. Open File Explorer or Finder and navigate to the SharePoint or OneDrive library.
2. Right-click on any open space in the window and select New
3. Select the desired file type or Folder to create. Selecting an Office file type will immediately open the new file in the corresponding desktop application.
Move or Copy Files and Folders
Via a Web Browser
1. Navigate to the OneDrive for Business website (https://growthforce-my.sharepoint.com/) or the SharePoint website (https://growthforce.sharepoint.com)
2. Hover your mouse over the file or folder you wish to move and click the circular check button to select it. Repeat this for every other file or folder you wish to copy or move.
3. Select Move To or Copy To in the library toolbar.
4. Select the destination from the pop-out pane. Items in a SharePoint library can be moved to a folder in the same library, another SharePoint library you have access to, or your OneDrive.
The file will be moved or copied to the selected destination.
On your Computer
1. Open File Explorer or Finder and navigate to the SharePoint or OneDrive library.
2. Right-click on the file or folder you want to copy or move and select Cut to move or Copy to copy.
3. Navigate to the destination in File Explorer or Finder. This can be any mapped cloud location (SharePoint, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.) or a local destination (Documents or Desktop).
4. Right-click on any empty space in the destination and select Paste.

If moved or copied to a cloud location, the file or folder will begin syncing immediately.
Upload or Sync Files
Via a Web Browser
1. Navigate to the OneDrive for Business website (https://growthforce-my.sharepoint.com/) or the SharePoint website (https://growthforce.sharepoint.com), then go to the folder where you want to upload the file.
2. Select the Upload button in the library menu, then choose whether you want to upload a file or folder.
3. In the window that appears, browse to and select the file or folder you want to upload, then select Open
The file or folder will begin uploading to the current folder.

On your Computer
1. Open File Explorer or Finder and navigate to the location of the file you want to upload and sync.
2. Right-click on the file or folder and select Cut to move or Copy to copy.
3. Navigate to the desired OneDrive or SharePoint folder in File Explorer or Finder, right-click on any empty space, and select Paste.

The file or folder will begin syncing immediately. Note that you can also directly save documents from an application (such as Word or Excel) to a SharePoint or OneDrive folder for immediate upload.
Deleting Files

Deleting files from a SharePoint library on your computer or web browser will delete the files for everyone. Only delete items if you are absolutely sure they are not needed. |
Via a Web Browser
1. Navigate to the OneDrive for Business website (https://growthforce-my.sharepoint.com/) or the SharePoint website (https://growthforce.sharepoint.com)
2. Hover your mouse over the file or folder you wish to move and click the circular check button to select it. Repeat this for every other file or folder you wish to delete.
3. Select Delete from the library menu.
The file or folder will be deleted. Deleted items can be recovered by request up to 90 days after deletion.
On your Computer
1. Open File Explorer or Finder and navigate to the location of the file you want to delete.
2. Right-click on the file or folder (or highlight a group of items then right-click) and select Delete or Move to Trash.
The OneDrive sync app will process the deletion and delete the files in the cloud.
