Opening a OneNote Notebook

Most OneNote notebooks used at GrowthForce are stored in SharePoint.  By default, these notebooks are accessed in a web browser but can be transferred to the OneNote desktop application in just a few steps.

Open a OneNote Notebook in your Browser

1.  Open the desired OneNote Notebook by clicking a shared link or selecting the Notebook from a SharePoint list.  

The notebook will open in a new tab. Changes you make to the Notebook will be automatically saved.

Opening a OneNote Notebook in the Desktop App

1.  With the desired OneNote Notebook open in your browser, click Open in app in the menu bar

2.  If prompted to confirm opening the Notebook in the desktop app, click Open

3.  OneNote will open on your computer.  If prompted with a security warning, click Yes

The OneNote Notebook will load and open in the app.  You may be asked to sign in if you have not already done so.  

Important:  Once this process is completed, the Notebook can be opened directly in the OneNote desktop app.  You only need to follow this process once for each Notebook.
