Email is a great way to collaborate with others, but sometimes we are added to teams, but we don't want to get emails all the time about it. Now that we have upgraded our Client File Structure, how can I customize how many emails I get?
If you needed to Follow a Group, just follow the steps below:
By default. you will automatically be set to follow a group when you are first added to it. You should only need to make these changes if you have disabled notifications in the past.
Option 1 - Outlook Desktop
1- Select the group from the left navigation pane
2- Choose "Group Settings" in the ribbon menu bar.
3- Change your setting on the "Follow in Inbox" setting to "all Emails and Events"
Option 2 - OUTLOOK ON THE WEB--
-
In Outlook on the web, select a group from the left navigation pane.
-
Select the group picture above the message list.
-
At the top of the group window, move the Follow in inbox toggle to On.
To stop following a group:
To stop receiving a copy of messages sent to the group, stop following the group.
-
-
In Outlook on the web, select a group from the left navigation pane.
-
Select the group picture above the message list.
-
At the top of the group window, move the Follow in inbox toggle to Off.
-
Reduce copies of emails coming to just your inbox.
For the individual users to receive group emails, they also have to consent to all the emails in their personal group settings.
1. Next to the Group in Outlook, click three dots > Settings
2. Make sure the radio button next to “Receive all email and events” is checked
It is important to note that if the user decides to stop receiving the emails by clicking on the “Don’t receive any group messages” radio button, once the Group owner checks the box next to the Subscription setting, it will resubscribe the users to all the emails again (will change their “Don’t receive any group messages radio button to Receive all email and events” button. So it is almost like enforcement in a way. (the user can still change their choice after that, though).
